Vinterior's Top Seller Scheme

The Top Seller Scheme rewards our best-performing sellers and encourages every seller to aim for Trusted and Top Seller status. Here's what it takes to get there, and how to stay there.

How it works

Each month, we look at your last 12 months of activity and place you in a tier:

  • Top Seller - Excellent on all 4 service metrics, £15,000+ in net sales (net sales are completed sales, i.e. excluding cancellations and returns)

  • Trusted Seller - Excellent on all 4 service metrics, £5,000+ in net sales

  • Professional Seller - All other professional sellers

To receive a score, you'll need to have made at least 3 sales and to have been on the platform for over 30 days. If you have fewer than 3 sales in the past 12 months, your score will default to 'Room to Improve'.

What's not counted in your score:

  • Cancellations: Buyer-initiated cancellations, failed payments, and cancellations due to listing errors where Vinterior uploaded the listing for you.

  • Returns: Buyer-initiated returns, returns caused by delivery damage from Vinterior's Proovia service, and returns due to listing errors where Vinterior uploaded the listing for you.

  • Response Time and Responsiveness: These scores won't count towards your performance until 1 November. A few things to note:

    • Spam messages and buyer offers are excluded; scores count from when a message is approved, not when it's sent, and only the first message per conversation counts.

    • Both scores are paused while Holiday mode is active.

    • If you've made 3 or more sales with no enquiries, you'll automatically receive an 'Excellent' score.

    • Scores are based on data from 25 June 2026 (when tracking began) rather than a full 12 months.

If you have a 'Poor' or 'Very Poor' score, we may reach out to understand what's happening and see how we can help. We expect every score to be at least 'Room to Improve'.

Where to find your scorecard

If you're subscribed to our emails, you'll receive your scorecard by email at the start of each month, showing your current seller status and how you're scoring on each metric.

You can also check it any time in your seller dashboard under Notifications:

Grace period for Top Sellers

From 1 October, if your score dips below the Top Seller threshold, you'll enter a grace period. You'll keep all your Top Seller benefits for 3 months while you work to bring your score back up. If your score hasn't recovered after 3 months, your Top Seller benefits will be removed.

How to improve your score

  • Cancellation rate: Most cancellations are from items no longer being available for sale. This is easily avoidable by regularly checking that everything you have listed is still for sale and marking items as sold as soon as you've sold them.

  • Return rate: Most returns are avoidable with an accurate, detailed listing. Double-check that your photos and descriptions match the piece exactly.

  • Response time: Enquiries answered quickly convert more often. Aim to reply within a few hours where you can.

  • Responsiveness: Make sure you respond to every first message to have a great responsiveness score.

Scores are recalculated on the 1st of each month based on the previous 12 months of data. Each new month is a fresh opportunity to move up.

A few tips to boost your sales

  • List every week. New items get extra exposure in our "New in" homepage section for 7 days, where 40% of buyer traffic lands.

  • We don't sell furniture; we sell photographs. Make sure your photos are bright, clear, and show each piece from multiple angles.

  • Add a trade discount if you don't already have one. Even 5% puts your listings in front of our full trade community.

  • Consider Sponsored Listings for pieces priced £600 or more. It's a flat 25% commission (plus VAT for UK sellers), only charged if the item sells.
